Getting there

Bus

To reach Isla Cedros from Jaco, start at the main bus station located on Avenida Pastor Díaz. Look for a bus headed towards Puntarenas; these buses run frequently throughout the day. The journey will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive at the Puntarenas bus terminal, disembark and head towards the port area. From there, you will need to find a boat service that offers trips to Isla Cedros. Check for schedules at the docks as they can vary. The boat ride should take around 30 minutes.

Taxi/Shared Shuttle

If you prefer a more direct route, you can opt for a taxi or a shared shuttle. Request a taxi from your hotel or use a ride-hailing app if available. The driver will take you to the Puntarenas port. The ride will take about 1.5 hours, depending on traffic. Upon reaching the port, ask the driver for directions to the boat service that goes to Isla Cedros.
