    If you are driving from Rincon de la Vieja National Park, head east on the main road (Route 1) towards Liberia. Take the Route 1 exit towards La Cruz/Guatuso and continue on this road for approximately 25 km. You will eventually see signs for El Gavilan. Turn left onto the road marked for El Gavilan and continue for about 5 km. Look for the old butterfly garden (mariposario) on your right; Blue River Resort & Hot Springs is located about 600 meters north of the old mariposario. Make sure to follow the signage to the resort.
