If driving to Mirador el Tanque de Agua, start from the main entrance of Rincon de la Vieja National Park. Head southwest on the main road inside the park, following signs to attractions. After approximately 15 minutes, look for a dirt road branching to the left, the access road to Mirador el Tanque de Agua. Drive along this road for about 10 minutes to reach the parking area. Note that a parking fee may be required at the park entrance.

For those using public transport, take a bus from Liberia to Rincon de la Vieja National Park. From the park entrance, hire a local taxi or shuttle to Mirador el Tanque de Agua. Negotiate the fare beforehand; a round trip typically costs around $10 to $15 USD. The taxi will take you to the parking area near the mirador.

If already inside Rincon de la Vieja National Park and preferring to hike, follow the signposted paths towards the mirador. The well-marked trail takes about 30 to 45 minutes, depending on your pace. Wear sturdy shoes and bring water. The hike is moderately challenging but offers beautiful scenery.
