Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving from the town of Gospić, head south on the D50 road towards the town of Otočac. After approximately 30 kilometers, merge onto the D42 road toward Prozor. Continue following D42 for about 15 kilometers until you reach Prozor. Once in Prozor, look for signs directing you toward Rijeka Gacka, which is located at the coordinates 44.8395, 15.2554. Be prepared for a short drive on local roads, as you may need to navigate toward the river access points.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Rijeka Gacka using public transportation, take a bus from Gospić to Otočac. Buses operate several times a day, and the fare typically ranges from 30 to 50 HRK. Once you arrive in Otočac, transfer to a local bus heading towards Prozor. This leg of the journey will take about 30 minutes and costs approximately 20 HRK. Upon reaching Prozor, you may need to walk or arrange a local taxi to reach the river, which is approximately a 15-20 minute walk from the bus stop. Confirm local taxi availability in advance.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct route or are traveling with a group, you can opt for a taxi from either Otočac or Gospić directly to Rijeka Gacka. This option is more expensive, with fares typically ranging between 200 to 400 HRK depending on your starting point. Make sure to agree on the fare before starting the journey or confirm that the taxi uses a meter.
