After entering, continue driving along the main road until you see signs for Mali prštavac. There will be a parking area available near the trailhead. Once you park, you will need to hike approximately 20 minutes along the marked hiking trails to reach Mali prštavac.

For those using public transportation, take a bus that goes to the Plitvice Lakes National Park from cities like Zagreb or Split. Buses run regularly and the fare is around 100 HRK. Once you arrive at the park's main entrance, you can buy an entrance ticket (approximately 250 HRK). After entering the park, you can either take the park's shuttle bus service that operates within the park to the Upper Lakes area or choose to hike. If you choose to hike, follow the signs leading to Mali prštavac, which is a scenic route taking roughly 30-40 minutes on foot.
