Getting There

• Bus

  From the center of Split, head to the main bus terminal located near the ferry port. Look for the bus that departs for 'Cista Velika' or 'D60'. Make sure to check the schedule as buses may not run frequently. Once on the bus, enjoy the scenic ride through the Croatian countryside. The journey will take approximately 40-60 minutes. When you arrive at the Cista Velika bus stop, disembark and follow the signs towards the archaeological site, which is a short 10-minute walk from the stop.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer a more active approach, you can rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in Split. Once you have your bike, head east towards the D60 road, following the bicycle lanes. The ride will take you through some beautiful landscapes and should take about 1-1.5 hours. Keep an eye out for signs directing you to Cista Velika as you approach the site. Park your bicycle at the designated area near the archaeological site.

• Walking

  If you are feeling adventurous and want to experience the surroundings on foot, you can begin your walk from the center of Split. Start at the Diocletian's Palace and head towards the waterfront. Follow the coastline until you reach the outskirts of the city. From there, navigate towards the D60 road, which leads to Cista Velika. This walk will take approximately 3-4 hours, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water.
