Experience Diocletian's Palace

Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in the Riva promenade area, walk towards the northern end of the promenade. Look for the large clock tower of the Cathedral of Saint Domnius. Head towards it; the entrance to Diocletian's Palace is right nearby. You will see the entrance marked by the Silver Gate (Srebrna vrata) on your left as you approach the cathedral.

  • Public Transport (Bus)

    If you are at the main bus station (Autobusni Kolodvor), you can catch bus number 5 or 6. Ride for 3 stops and get off at the Trg Republike (People's Square) stop. From there, walk towards the eastern side of the square, and you will see the entrance to Diocletian's Palace at the nearby Silver Gate.

    If you are staying near the Split train station, exit the station and walk towards the Riva promenade. Once on the promenade, head towards the eastern edge where you will see the large clock tower of the Cathedral of Saint Domnius. The entrance to Diocletian's Palace is located by the Silver Gate, which is close to the cathedral.

    If you start from the Varos neighborhood, walk downhill towards the Riva promenade. Once you reach the promenade, turn left and follow the waterfront until you reach the clock tower of the Cathedral of Saint Domnius. The Silver Gate, the entrance to Diocletian's Palace, will be just a short distance away from the cathedral.
