Walking
From the center of Stari Grad, the Stari Grad Plain is easily accessible on foot. Head east or south from the town center, following the local roads or trails that lead into the agricultural fields. The edges of the plain are within a 15-20 minute walk from most points in town. There are no entrance fees or specific access points; simply follow the paths into the plain.
Public Transport
Local buses connect Stari Grad with other towns on Hvar Island, such as Hvar Town, Jelsa and Vrboska. From these towns, you can reach the Stari Grad Plain by alighting at Stari Grad and walking. Bus tickets can be purchased on the bus. A single journey from Hvar Town to Stari Grad costs approximately €3-5.
Taxi
Taxis are available in Stari Grad and can take you to the edge of the Stari Grad Plain. A taxi from the Stari Grad ferry port to the plain will cost approximately €10-€15. Ensure the taxi is licensed and agree on the fare before starting your journey.
