To reach Ugljan from Zadar, start your journey at the Zadar ferry terminal. Head to the terminal located near the city center, specifically at Obala kralja Petra Krešimira IV. You can walk to the terminal from major Zadar landmarks such as the Sea Organ or the Forum. Once at the ferry terminal, look for the Jadrolinija ticket booth to buy your ticket to Ugljan. Ferries typically run frequently, so check the schedule posted at the terminal. The ferry ride to Ugljan takes approximately 25 minutes. After boarding, enjoy the scenic views of the Adriatic Sea. Once you arrive at the Ugljan ferry port, you will find yourself close to the village center where you can explore the island.

If you prefer to take public transport before boarding the ferry, you can take a local bus to the Zadar ferry terminal. Look for bus lines that head toward the port area, such as lines 5 or 8. Get off at the stop called 'Ferry Port' or 'Luka Zadar.' From there, it’s a short walk to the ferry terminal to catch your ferry to Ugljan. If you are already in the Old Town of Zadar, you can easily walk to the ferry terminal. From the Sea Organ, walk along the promenade in the direction of the 'Molo Longo' (the long pier).
