Established in 2017 by the Stichting Beeldentuin Blue Bay, the garden aims to promote tourism and art education on the island. The first sculpture was a ceramic totem by local artist Ellen Spijkstra.The garden features over 40 sculptures made from diverse materials like Tafelberg stone, marble, iron, and recycled materials. The sculptures range from figurative to abstract, reflecting Curaçaoan identity, history, and environment. The Beeldenroute, or Sculpture Route, guides visitors through the resort, starting at the welcome center, passing Landhuis Blauw (a historic plantation house), and ending near the Coast restaurant.Notable artists include Giovanni Abath, Yubi Kirindongo, and Hortence Brouwn. The garden develops educational materials in Papiamentu and Dutch for secondary schools and hosts guided tours. Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands visited the garden in 2021, highlighting its cultural significance.
