Lifeguards are on duty from June to October, providing a safe environment for swimming and water sports. The beach also offers disabled access, making it inclusive for all visitors. One of the unique features of Mackenzie Beach is its proximity to Larnaca International Airport. Beachgoers can enjoy the spectacle of airplanes taking off and landing. The Larnaca Salt Lake, a designated nature reserve, is located a short distance from Mackenzie Beach. The Hala Sultan Tekke mosque, one of the most important Muslim sites in Cyprus, is also located near the Larnaca Salt Lake.
