Karaoğlanoğlu Cemetery: A Place of Remembrance

Karaoğlanoğlu Cemetery, located in Karavas, near Kyrenia, Northern Cyprus, serves as a solemn tribute to the soldiers who lost their lives during the Cyprus Peace Operation in 1974. The cemetery is named after Colonel Halil İbrahim Karaoğlanoğlu, a commander who died in the conflict. Constructed in 1976, the memorial complex features a central monument with four pillars, symbolizing the four days of the military operation, and includes 71 graves of Turkish soldiers arranged in symmetrical rows.
