Paphos Castle: A Historical Gem by the Sea

Getting There

• Car

  From Paphos Forest, head south on the main road towards Paphos. Follow signs for Paphos town, and after approximately 20-30 minutes of driving, you will reach the coastal area. Look for signs directing you to Kato Paphos Harbour. Once you arrive at the harbour area, find parking near the promenade. There are several paid parking lots available, which typically charge around €2-€3 per hour. After parking, walk along the Coastal Boardwalk towards the castle, which will be visible ahead.

• Public Transportation

  If you prefer public transportation, you can take a bus from various points within Paphos Forest to Paphos town center. Look for the local bus service that connects to the Paphos Harbour area. The bus fare is generally around €1.50-€2.00 per person. Once you arrive at the bus station in Paphos, follow the signs to Kato Paphos Harbour. It’s a short 10-15 minute walk from the bus station to the castle along the Coastal Boardwalk.

• Walking

  For those already in the Paphos Harbour area, Paphos Castle is easily accessible on foot. From the harbour, simply follow the Coastal Boardwalk which leads directly to the castle. The walk is scenic and takes about 5-10 minutes. Ensure you have comfortable shoes as the promenade can sometimes be uneven.
