If you are traveling by car, start from the nearest significant town, which is Nový Hrozenkov. From the center of Nový Hrozenkov, head southeast on Hranická street (Silnice I/57) towards the direction of Vsetín. After approximately 5 km, you will see signs for Kohútka. Follow these signs and take a left turn onto the road leading up to the mountain. The drive will take about 20 minutes, depending on road conditions. There is a parking area at the top where you can leave your vehicle.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a bus from the Nový Hrozenkov bus station. Look for bus services that head towards Vsetín or the surrounding areas. It is advisable to check the local bus schedules as they can vary. Get off at the stop named 'Kohútka', which is the closest stop to the mountain peak. From there, you may need to walk approximately 1 km uphill to reach the peak itself. Expect the bus journey to take about 30 minutes, and a ticket will cost around 30 CZK.
Hiking
If you're already in the Beskydy Mountains and prefer a hiking route, you can start from nearby trails. One popular route begins at the village of Halenkov, which is about 8 km away from Kohútka.
