The Enigmatic Sedlec Ossuary: A Bone-Chilling Journey into History

Getting There

• Train

  From Brno Main Train Station (Hlavní nádraží), purchase a ticket to Kutná Hora. The train ride takes approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive at Kutná Hora Main Train Station (Kutná Hora hl.n.), exit the station and look for bus stop signs. You will need to catch a bus to the Sedlec Ossuary. Buses to Sedlec run regularly, so check the local schedule. Take bus number 9, which will take you directly to the Sedlec Ossuary stop. After disembarking, follow the signs to the ossuary, which is about a 5-minute walk.

• Bus

  If you prefer to take a bus directly from Brno to Kutná Hora, you can catch a bus from the Brno Central Bus Station (ÚAN Zvonarka). Check the schedule for buses heading to Kutná Hora; the journey will take about 1.5 hours. Upon arrival at Kutná Hora, you can then take a local bus (number 9) from the bus station to the Sedlec Ossuary. The bus stop for Sedlec Ossuary is clearly marked, and the journey from the bus station will take about 10 minutes.

• Combination of Train and Walking

  Start your journey at Brno Main Train Station (Hlavní nádraží) and take a train to Kutná Hora. Upon arriving at Kutná Hora, instead of taking a bus, you can choose to walk to Sedlec Ossuary. It is approximately a 30-minute walk from the train station to the ossuary. Head west on Masarykova street, turn left onto Špitálská street, then continue until you reach Zámecká street where the ossuary is located.
