Getting There

Walking

From Olomouc Main Train Station (Hlavní nádraží), head east towards Hálkova Street. Turn left onto Hálkova Street and continue to Masarykova Street. Turn right onto Masarykova Street, which becomes 28. října Street. Continue until you reach Křížkovského Street, where you'll see signs for Bezručovy Sady. Turn left onto Křížkovského Street and walk for about 5 minutes to the park entrance. This walk is approximately 20 minutes.
Public Transport

From the main train station, take a tram to the city center. Tram tickets can be purchased from yellow vending machines at stops or from corner shops. A single ticket costs 25 CZK and is valid for 40 minutes on weekdays or 60 minutes on weekends. Get off at a stop near the city center and walk for approximately 5-10 minutes to reach Bezručovy Sady.
Driving

If driving, parking is available close to the city center, such as the parking area on 1. máje Street near Republic Square. As of 2023, the parking fee was 20 CZK per hour. From there, it's a short walk to Bezručovy Sady. Note that parking in the city center can be limited.

Bezručovy Sady, established at the turn of the 20th century, offers a serene escape in the historic city of Olomouc. The park's creation in 1898 involved transforming the area beneath the medieval city walls into a green oasis. This transformation followed the construction of a sewerage system in 1835, which addressed unsanitary conditions that had plagued the area.The park features walking trails, playgrounds, and quiet spots to admire the town and the meandering Mlýnský potok (Mill stream). Bezručovy Sady is known for its harmonious integration of natural scenery with historical elements like city walls and rock formations. The Morava River branch, the Mill Creek, creates a natural boundary between the park and the Botanic Garden.Within the park, visitors can find the Mausoleum of Yugoslav Soldiers, constructed in 1926, which contains the remains of Yugoslav soldiers who died in Moravia and Silesia during World War I. The park also features a memorial to Petr Bezruč, unveiled in 1947. The Botanic Garden, part of Bezručovy Sady, showcases diverse flora, including a unique collection of 10,000 rose bushes.Today, Bezručovy Sady provides a blend of recreational activities and cultural exploration.
