Getting There

Car
If you're traveling by car, from anywhere in North Moravia, you should head to the D1 motorway (Dálnice 1) towards Brno. Follow the signs for Brno and take exit 194 toward Brno-Centrum. Once you exit, follow the signs for the city center. Continue on Špitálka Street, which will take you directly into the center of Brno. Look for signs pointing to Špilberk Castle, which is located on a hill overlooking the city. There are parking options available near the castle, but be aware that some areas may require a parking fee.

Public Transportation
For public transportation, you can take a train or bus to Brno. If you arrive by train, use the Brno hlavní nádraží (Brno Main Station) as your starting point. From there, take tram line 12, 1, or 6 towards the city center and get off at the 'Špilberk' stop. The tram ride takes about 10-15 minutes. If you arrive by bus, many intercity buses will also stop at the main bus station in Brno, from which you can walk to the city center or take tram line 12 from the 'Hlavní nádraží' stop. The ticket for a tram ride costs around 25 CZK (about 1 USD).

If you are already in Brno and prefer to walk, you can start from the city center (Náměstí Svobody). From there, head towards the Špilberk Hill. The walk will take approximately 20-30 minutes. You can walk up through the park surrounding the castle or take the direct path that leads to the entrance. The views along the way are quite beautiful, providing a scenic glimpse of the city.
