Antonín Dvořák Museum: A Tribute to Czech Musical Genius

The Antonín Dvořák Museum, nestled in Prague's New Town, offers a captivating journey into the life and legacy of one of the Czech Republic's most celebrated composers. The museum's mission is to preserve and share documents related to Dvořák's life and work. Visitors can view a unique collection of his music manuscripts, correspondence, photographs, and personal items, including his viola, piano, and Cambridge graduation robe. The villa's architecture adds to the museum's charm. The ground floor features historical wooden showcases dating back to the museum's establishment. The first floor boasts a music salon adorned with frescoes depicting classical mythology themes by Johann Ferdinand Schor. The surrounding garden, featuring statues from the workshop of Matyáš Bernard Braun, provides a tranquil escape. The museum also hosts concerts, seminars, lectures, and exhibitions, further enriching the visitor experience. In May 2023, the Antonín Dvořák Archive was added to the UNESCO Memory of the World Programme Register, recognizing its importance to global documentary heritage.
