Kennebunk Beach: A Coastal Paradise in Maine

Getting There

• Bus

  From downtown Dover, start at the Delaware Public Archives bus stop. Take the DART First State bus number 104 towards the beach area. Stay on the bus for approximately 45 minutes. Get off at the Kennebunk Beach stop. From there, it is a short 10-minute walk to Kennebunk Beach. Head south on Beach Avenue until you reach the beach.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer to ride a bike, you can rent one from a local shop in downtown Dover. Start at the intersection of State Street and Loockerman Street, and head north on State Street. Follow the bike paths until you reach the intersection with Route 1. Turn left on Route 1 and follow the signs towards Kennebunk. The total distance is about 25 miles, so be prepared for a longer ride.

• Walking

  If you are feeling adventurous and would like to walk, start from the Dover Green. Head west on Loockerman Street until you reach Route 1. Follow Route 1 north for about 25 miles. This will take you through scenic areas, but be sure to wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated as it is quite a long walk.

• Taxi or Rideshare

  You can also use a taxi or rideshare service like Uber or Lyft. Simply request a ride from your current location in Dover to Kennebunk Beach.
