Getting There

  • Car

    From Fort Delaware State Park, exit the park and head northwest on Fort DuPont Ave. Continue on Fort DuPont Ave for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Route 9. Turn left onto Route 9 and continue for approximately 3.5 miles. At the roundabout, take the second exit to stay on Route 9. After about 2 miles, merge onto I-295 N toward New Jersey. After about 5 miles, take exit 2B for US-13 N toward New Castle. Continue on US-13 N for about 2 miles, then take the exit toward DE-273 E. Turn left onto DE-273 E and continue for about 1 mile. Finally, turn right onto Delaware St, and you will find First State National Historical Park at 211 Delaware St, New Castle, DE 19720.

    From Fort Delaware State Park, you can take a taxi or rideshare service to reach the nearest public transportation hub. The nearest bus stop is located at the intersection of Route 9 and US-13.
