Getting There

Walking
Start at the center of La Plaine, at the local market. Head south on the main road (Route 5) towards the coast. Continue on this road for about 1 kilometer until you reach a fork. Take the left path leading towards the hills, which will take you toward the Valley of Desolation. Follow the signs for the hiking trail. The entrance to the Valley of Desolation is clearly marked. The walk should take approximately 20-30 minutes.

If you are near the La Plaine River, walk upstream along the riverbank. Continue on the path that follows the river for about 15 minutes until you see a bridge. Cross the bridge and take the left trail that ascends the hillside. This trail will lead you directly to the Valley of Desolation. It is a scenic route but can be steep in some areas, so be prepared for a little uphill walking.
