Walking
From the center of La Plaine, follow signs towards Sari-Sari Waterfall. The trailhead is located on the outskirts of the village. The hike to the waterfall is moderately challenging and takes approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour each way. The trail involves river crossings and rocky terrain, so wear appropriate footwear. Be mindful of slippery conditions, especially after rain. There are no entrance fees to access the trail or the waterfall.
Taxi/Ride-Share
From accommodations in or around La Plaine, a taxi can take you to the Sari-Sari Waterfall trailhead. Negotiate the fare beforehand, as taxis in Dominica typically do not use meters. A short taxi ride from within La Plaine to the trailhead should cost approximately XCD 20-30 (USD 7-11). Confirm the price with the driver before starting your journey. The driver can either wait for you or arrange a pick-up time after your hike.
Public Transport
From Roseau or other major towns, take a minibus heading towards La Plaine. Minibuses are a common form of transport in Dominica. The fare to La Plaine is approximately EC$5-EC$10. Ask the driver to drop you off at the junction near La Plaine that leads to Sari-Sari Waterfall. From the junction, it's about a 20-minute walk to the trailhead. Ensure you have cash for the fare.
