From Las Terrenas, take the main road (Carretera Las Terrenas - Sánchez) towards Sánchez. Continue on this road for about 30 minutes until you reach the intersection with the Carretera Sánchez - Samana. Turn right and follow the signs to Samaná. After about 15 minutes, turn left onto the road towards El Limón, and follow the signs for Caño Frío. You will see signs leading you to the river. Please note, there may be small tolls on the road, so keep some cash handy.

From Las Terrenas, head to the local bus terminal (Carros Públicos) where you can catch a 'carro público' (shared taxi) to Sánchez. The fare is typically around 100-150 DOP. Once in Sánchez, transfer to another 'carro público' heading towards Samaná. Inform the driver that you are going to Caño Frío, and they will drop you off at the nearest point. Be prepared to walk a little once you get close, as direct transport to Caño Frío may not be available. The total journey may take around 1.5 to 2 hours.

For a more direct route, consider hiring a taxi from your location in Samaná Peninsula. Negotiate a fare beforehand; the cost from Las Terrenas to Caño Frío should be around 1,500 to 2,000 DOP depending on your starting point and the taxi service.
