Car
If you are driving from the center of Samaná, head southwest on Avenida Juan Pablo Duarte towards Calle Jose Francisco Peña Gomez. Continue on this route for about 5 minutes until you reach the intersection with the Carretera Samaná - Sanchez (also known as DR-5). Turn left onto DR-5 and drive for about 15 minutes. Look for signs towards Las Galeras and Cayo Vigia. You will come across a small parking area near the beach that serves as the main access point to Cayo Vigia. Be aware that parking may have a small fee, typically around 100-200 Dominican Pesos.
Public Transportation
From the main bus terminal in Samaná, take a guagua (shared minibus) heading towards Las Galeras. The fare is usually around 50-100 Dominican Pesos. Inform the driver that you are going to Cayo Vigia, and they will drop you off at the nearest stop. From there, you may need to walk approximately 10-15 minutes to reach the beach access point for Cayo Vigia. Be prepared for a short walk along a dirt path, and ensure you have proper footwear.
