Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from Samaná town, head northeast on Boulevard del Atlantico (also known as Carretera Samaná - Las Galeras). Continue for approximately 25 kilometers (about 30 minutes). As you approach Las Galeras, watch for signs directing you to Playa Caleton. The final part of the route involves turning left onto a smaller road that leads directly to the beach area. Parking is available near the beach, but it’s recommended to arrive early during peak tourist seasons.

• Public Transportation (Guagua)

  To take a guagua (local minibus) from Samaná to Las Galeras, head to the local bus terminal in Samaná. Look for the guagua that is heading to Las Galeras; they typically leave every 30 minutes and cost around 100 DOP (Dominican Pesos) per person. The ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you reach Las Galeras, you can either walk or take a moto-taxi (motorcycle taxi) to Playa Caleton. The moto-taxi ride should cost about 50-100 DOP depending on negotiation.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct and convenient option, you can hire a taxi from Samaná to Playa Caleton. Taxis are available throughout Samaná, and the fare to Playa Caleton is approximately 1,500 to 2,000 DOP, depending on your negotiation skills and the taxi service you choose. The journey will take around 30 minutes. Be sure to confirm the price before starting your trip.
