Getting There

  • Public transport (Bus)

    From the center of Samana, head to the main bus station, which is located near the waterfront. Look for buses marked 'Las Terrenas' or 'Samaná - Las Terrenas'. The bus ride takes about 30-45 minutes. Once you arrive in Las Terrenas, ask the driver to let you off at the nearest stop to Playa Las Ballenas. From there, you can walk approximately 15-20 minutes towards the beach. Follow the main road (Francisco Alberto Caamaño Deñó) until you reach the beach access point.

  • Motoconcho (Motorcycle taxi)

    If you prefer a quicker option, you can take a motoconcho from anywhere in Samana to Las Terrenas. Simply find a motoconcho driver (they are usually located near the bus station or popular areas). Negotiate a fair price (usually around 800-1000 DOP) for the ride to Playa Las Ballenas. Once in Las Terrenas, tell the driver your destination, and they will take you directly to the beach, which should take about 30 minutes.
