Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from the center of Samaná, head southeast on Av. Juan Pablo Duarte. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with the Carretera Samaná - Sánchez (DR-5). Turn right onto this highway. Follow it for about 10 km until you reach the sign for Playa Madama, which is located on Cam. A Playa Madama. The road will be a bit bumpy, so drive carefully. Once you arrive at the beach area, there is limited parking available, and you may need to pay a small fee for parking, usually around 100 pesos.

• Public Transportation (Guagua)

  From the town center of Samaná, look for a 'guagua' (shared minibus) heading towards Las Galeras. You can find these at the main bus station or around Parque Central. The fare is typically around 50 pesos. Ask the driver to drop you off at the nearest point to Playa Madama. It may require some walking from where the guagua stops, so be prepared with comfortable shoes. The total travel time may take approximately 30-45 minutes depending on stops.

• Taxi

  For a more direct route, consider hiring a taxi from Samaná. You can negotiate a fare, which should be around 800-1000 pesos for a round trip. The taxi will take you directly to Playa Madama. Ensure to agree on a pickup time to ensure you have a ride back. This option is more convenient if you are traveling in a group or carrying beach gear.
