If you are traveling by car, start from Cuenca, the capital of Azuay Province. Take the Pan-American Highway (E35) southbound towards Azogues. After approximately 30 kilometers, take the exit towards Girón (E40). Follow the signs leading you into Girón. Once in Girón, look for signs for El Chorro del Girón. The waterfall is located about 10 kilometers from the town center. Be aware that the last stretch to the waterfall might be on a gravel road, so proceed with caution.

If you prefer public transport, take a bus from Cuenca to Girón. Buses leave frequently from the main bus terminal in Cuenca. The fare is usually around $1.50 and the journey takes about 45 minutes to an hour. Once you arrive in Girón, you can either walk (approximately 1.5 hours) or hire a taxi to take you to El Chorro del Girón. The taxi fare should range from $5 to $10 depending on your negotiation skills.

If you are already in Girón and prefer to walk to El Chorro del Girón, begin from the main square of Girón. Head south on Calle 24 de Mayo and follow the road as it curves. Bring water and snacks, as there are limited facilities along the way.
