My mom and I had a fabulous experience in Ecuador. We explored the historic center of Quito with the help of a guide who was very polite and educational, Henry, who adapted to our pace since my mom is a bit older. We spent 6 dreamlike days in the Galapagos Islands, observing not only Darwin's finches and giant tortoises, but also manta rays, sharks, and sea turtles. We visited Floreana Island; a guide born there led us along the historical and natural trails and took very good care of me while we were snorkeling in the sea. The hotels were excellent, the food delicious, and the Galapagueños charming. One of my favorite activities in the Galapagos was the Bay Tour, guided by Billy Chiquito, an exceptional guide. Álvaro and Jacquie Granda from Responsible Travel and Travel Local made sure my trip was fantastic; everything was fulfilled as agreed. Responsible Travel awarded us a certificate for supporting the Adopt a Tree program with our trip. To improve the experience, I would suggest reviewing options for traveling more comfortably to the uninhabited islands, since the trip on the Flower boat was quite bumpy and it did not have (or I did not see) seat belts on the seats. My experience was very good and I 100% recommend Responsible Travel.
