Walking
From the center of Mindo, start at the main square (Plaza Mindo). Head west on Calle 9 de Octubre for about 200 meters until you reach the intersection with the road to San Lorenzo (Via Mindo - San Lorenzo). Turn left onto this road and continue walking for approximately 1.5 kilometers until you reach the fork in the road. Take the right path that leads to San Miguel de Los Bancos. After about 3 kilometers, you will see signs directing you to the San Miguel Bird Sanctuary. Follow the signs for another 1 kilometer until you arrive at the sanctuary entrance.

From Mindo, walk to the main bus terminal located near the plaza. Look for buses heading to Los Bancos or San Miguel de Los Bancos. The trip will take around 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at the San Miguel de Los Bancos bus stop, ask the driver or locals for directions to the San Miguel Bird Sanctuary, which is approximately 5 kilometers away from the bus stop.
