Car
If you are driving to Quilotoa, start your journey from Quito, the capital of Ecuador. Take the Pan-American Highway (E35) south towards Latacunga. The drive takes about 2-3 hours depending on traffic. Once you reach Latacunga, follow signs for the Quilotoa Loop (E46), and drive towards the town of Zumbahua. From Zumbahua, continue on the unpaved road for about 12 kilometers until you reach the Quilotoa Crater Lake. Be aware that some sections of the road may be rough, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended. There is no entry fee for driving to the viewpoint, but parking is available near the crater.

Public Transportation
To reach Quilotoa by public transportation, first take a bus from Quito to Latacunga. Buses leave frequently from the Quitumbe bus terminal and the journey takes about 2-3 hours. Once in Latacunga, look for a bus to Zumbahua; these buses depart from the main bus terminal and the trip takes approximately 1.5 hours. In Zumbahua, you can either hike or take a taxi for the remaining 12 kilometers to Quilotoa. The taxi fare may vary, but expect to pay around $10-$15. Make sure to confirm the price before starting the ride. There is no entry fee for visiting the crater lake.
