Getting There

  • Walking

    From Puerto Ayora, walk west on Avenida Baltra. At the second crossroads, about 200 meters from the pier, turn left onto Charles Binford Street. Continue for 350 meters until you reach the Galapagos National Park entrance and the start of the Tortuga Bay trail. The walk along the paved trail to Playa Brava is approximately 2.5 kilometers (1.5 miles) and takes about 45 minutes. Remember to sign in at the National Park booth. To reach Playa Mansa, follow the path to the right through the mangroves for about 20 minutes. There is no cost for this route.

  • Taxi Boat

    Alternatively, take a taxi boat from the main pier in Puerto Ayora. The boat trip takes approximately 20 minutes and costs around $10 USD per person each way. Check at the pier for daily departure times. From the landing point, it is a short walk to the beaches.
