Getting There

  • Walking

    From Tahrir Square, walk northwest on Qasr El Nil Street towards the Nile River. Continue for about 10 minutes until you reach the intersection with Mohammed Sabri Abou Alam Street. New Downtown du Cairo will be at this intersection. The walk is approximately 800 meters, passing shops and cafes.

    Take the Metro to Sadat Metro Station under Tahrir Square. Take Metro Line 1 (the red line) towards Helwan. Disembark at Mohandessin. From there, take a taxi or ride-sharing service to New Downtown du Cairo. Expect to pay 30-50 EGP for the taxi ride, which should take about 10 minutes. Alternatively, take a local bus heading towards Qasr El Nil or Bab Al Louq. Buses are frequent and cost around 9 EGP. Inform the driver of your destination, and they will drop you off at the nearest stop.
