Wadi Degla Reserve, declared a protectorate in 1999, spans 60 square kilometers and presents a striking contrast to Cairo's bustling city life. Located approximately 15 kilometers southeast of Cairo in the Maadi district, this natural haven is easily accessible for a quick escape.The reserve's landscape is characterized by a 12km-long canyon carved through limestone terrain, dating back to the Eocene Epoch over 50 million years ago. This geological history makes the area rich in fossils, offering visitors a glimpse into ancient marine life.
