Midan Al-Hawis: A Cultural Oasis in Suez

Getting There

• Walking

  If you are starting from Suez City Center, head southeast toward Al Ezzab Street. Walk straight for about 1 km until you reach the intersection with Mohamed Ali Street. Turn left onto Mohamed Ali Street and continue for another 500 meters. You will pass by several cafes and shops along the way. At the next intersection, turn right onto Fifth Shyakha Street. Continue walking for about 300 meters until you reach ميدان الهويس, which will be on your left. Look for the large open square and enjoy the local atmosphere.

• Public Transport (Bus)

  From Suez City Center, find a local bus heading towards Al Ganayen. Buses typically depart from the main bus station near the city center. Once on the bus, inform the driver that you want to go to ميدان الهويس. The journey will take approximately 15-20 minutes. After disembarking, walk towards Fifth Shyakha Street, and you will see ميدان الهويس just a short distance ahead.

• Bicycle

  If you have access to a bicycle, start from the Suez waterfront and head toward the main road leading out of the city. Follow the road signs directing you to Al Ganayen. It is approximately a 3 km ride. Once you reach Fifth Shyakha Street, look for ميدان الهويس on your right. It’s a pleasant ride with views of the surrounding area.
