    From La Libertad, take the #660 bus towards Comasagua. The bus fare is approximately $0.50 to $1.00, and the journey takes about 30-45 minutes. Ask the driver to drop you off at the junction towards Cantón El Faro. From there, walk approximately 2 kilometers up the road labeled 'Carretera a la Shila'. Follow the signs directing you towards El Peñón de Comasagua. The walk is steep in some areas and takes about 30-40 minutes. Alternatively, from San Tecla, take bus #104A to Comasagua. Check local bus stations for departure times. From the El Peñon de Comasagua bus station, walk 1.5km to the trailhead.

  • Taxi/Tuk-Tuk and Walking

    From the bus drop-off point at the junction towards Cantón El Faro, you can find local tuk-tuks. Negotiate the fare for a ride to El Peñón de Comasagua, which should cost around $5. The ride takes approximately 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic. From there, it's a short walk to the entrance of the trail. Alternatively, a taxi from Highlands directly to Peñon de Comasagua will cost $20-$30.

  • Driving

    From Puerto La Libertad, drive northeast on the CA-2 highway towards San Salvador. Take the exit toward La Libertad/Comasagua. Follow the road for about 15 kilometers until you reach a junction. Turn left at the junction and follow the signs toward Peñon de Comasagua. The road becomes more rural. After another 5 kilometers, you will arrive at the parking area for Peñon de Comasagua. From Comasagua, the natural rock formation is roughly 6km south. Entrance fee to El Peñón de Comasagua is $2 per person and $2 per vehicle for parking.
