Getting There

Car
From Lake Coatepeque, head southeast on the CA-1 highway. Continue for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach the junction for the CA-8 road towards Cerro Verde. Turn left onto CA-8 and follow the signs for Parque Nacional Cerro Verde. The park entrance will be on your left after about 15 kilometers. Please note that there is an entrance fee of $1.00 per person.

To reach Parque Nacional Cerro Verde from Lake Coatepeque using public transportation, first, take a bus from Coatepeque to San Salvador. The buses depart frequently and the fare is about $1.50. Upon arriving in San Salvador, transfer to another bus heading towards Cerro Verde. This bus will take you directly to the park entrance.
