If you are driving from the main entrance of Cerro Verde National Park, head southeast on the main road. Continue on the CA-8 highway for about 10 kilometers until you reach the intersection with the road leading to Nahuizalco. Turn left onto this road and follow it for approximately 5 kilometers. You will notice signs indicating the way to Río los Arenales. Near the end of this road, park your car in the designated parking area. From there, you may need to walk a short distance to reach the river, which is located just off the main path.

To reach Río los Arenales via public transport, start at the main visitor center in Cerro Verde National Park. Look for a local bus heading towards Nahuizalco; these buses usually depart from a nearby stop every 30 minutes. The bus ride should take around 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in Nahuizalco, ask the driver or locals how to reach Río los Arenales; it is a popular spot, so they will be familiar with it. You may need to walk a short distance from the bus stop to the river, following local directions.
