From the central plaza in Santa Ana, head south on Calle Libertad until you reach the intersection with Avenida Independencia. Turn left on Avenida Independencia and continue straight until you reach the bus terminal (Terminal de Buses) on your right. The bus terminal is approximately a 15-minute walk from the plaza.

At the bus terminal, look for buses heading to 'Ahuachapan' or 'Santa Ana Volcano.' These buses regularly depart and the fare is inexpensive (around $1). Make sure to inform the driver or the conductor that you wish to get off at the Santa Ana Volcano entrance. The journey will take about 30-40 minutes.

Once you arrive at the Santa Ana Volcano entrance, you will need to walk to the visitor center. Follow the signs leading to the entrance of the national park. The pathway is well-marked and should take you around 10-15 minutes to reach the entrance where you can purchase tickets and gather information about the hiking trail.

From the visitor center, the trail to the summit of Santa Ana Volcano begins. The hike is approximately 4-5 kilometers (about 2-3 miles) and takes around 1.5 to 2 hours to reach the summit. The path is steep and can be challenging, so make sure to wear appropriate footwear and bring water.
