If you are starting from the center of Asmara, head east on Harnet Avenue (the main street). Continue walking for about 15 minutes until you reach the intersection with Aseb Avenue. Turn left onto Aseb Avenue and walk straight for another 10 minutes. You will pass several shops and local eateries along the way, which can be great stops if you want to experience local cuisine. After about 10 minutes, you should see a sign for Makalayis Park on your right. The entrance is just a short walk down that path.

If you are near the Asmara Cathedral, exit the cathedral grounds and head south on Independence Avenue. Walk for approximately 12 minutes until you reach the intersection with Harnet Avenue. Turn right onto Harnet Avenue, and after about 5 minutes, you will come to the junction with Aseb Avenue. Turn left onto Aseb Avenue, and after a short walk, you'll find the entrance to Makalayis Park on your right.

From the National Museum of Eritrea, exit the museum and head west on the street. Walk for about 8 minutes until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Harnet Avenue. Continue on Harnet Avenue for about 10 minutes until you reach Aseb Avenue. Turn right onto Aseb Avenue, and you will shortly see the entrance to Makalayis Park on your right.
