If you are driving from Asmara, head south on the main road (Eritrean National Road 1). After approximately 40 kilometers, you will reach the town of Mendefera. From Mendefera, continue driving south for about 20 kilometers until you reach the turnoff towards Ayba. Follow the signs, and after about 10 kilometers on this road, you will arrive at Mereb (beradi), located at coordinates 14.6539° N, 39.0268° E. Note that the roads can be rough, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended.
Public Transportation
To reach Mereb (beradi) using public transportation, take a bus or shared taxi from Asmara to Mendefera. The fare is typically around 20-30 Nakfa. Upon arrival in Mendefera, find a local minibus heading towards Ayba. The fare for this leg of the journey is approximately 10-15 Nakfa. Once you reach Ayba, you may need to hire a local taxi to take you the final stretch to Mereb (beradi), which should cost around 50-100 Nakfa, depending on negotiation.
