Getting There

    If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Asmara, the capital of Eritrea. Take the main road (B300) south towards Debub Region. Continue on this road for approximately 25 km until you reach the junction for Arreza. Follow the signs to Arreza and turn onto the road leading into the town. As you enter Arreza, keep an eye out for local signage directing you towards Snowpeia Desert. The desert is located approximately 5 km from the center of Arreza. You can park your car at a designated area near the entrance to the desert.

    To reach Snowpeia Desert via public transportation, you will first need to take a bus or shared taxi from Asmara to Debub Region. Buses to Debub leave regularly from the Asmara central bus station. Make sure to ask the driver to drop you off at Arreza. The bus ride typically takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. Once in Arreza, you can either walk (approximately 5 km) to reach Snowpeia Desert or ask locals for a taxi or a shared ride to take you there.
