Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from Kuressaare, the capital of Saaremaa. Head northwest on Tallinna mnt / Route 10 for about 25 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 181. Turn left onto Route 181 and continue for about 12 kilometers. You will then reach the town of Vilsandi. Follow the signs to Kusti talu, where Vilsandi lighthouse is located. Note that parking may be limited near the lighthouse.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  For those using public transportation, take a bus from Kuressaare to Vilsandi. Buses run regularly from Kuressaare's bus station. Make sure to check the local schedule as times may vary. Once you arrive in Vilsandi, you may need to walk approximately 1 kilometer to reach Kusti talu and the lighthouse. Be aware that bus services may not operate late in the evening.

• Walking

  After arriving in Vilsandi by bus or car, you can enjoy a scenic walk to the lighthouse. From the parking area or bus stop, follow the signs towards Kusti talu, which is approximately a 15-20 minute walk through beautiful coastal scenery. Ensure you wear comfortable shoes, especially if the terrain is uneven.

• Boat

  If you're feeling adventurous, consider taking a boat trip to Vilsandi. Various local operators offer boat tours from Kuressaare that include stops at the island. Prices vary by operator, so check in advance. Once you arrive at Vilsandi, you will need to walk to Kusti talu to access the lighthouse.
