Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car within Soomaa National Park, start by heading to the main road leading through the park. Navigate towards the village of Tipu, which is located in Viljandi County. From the main park entrance, follow the signs towards Tipu. Once you reach Tipu, look for signs indicating the Beaver Trail. There is a designated parking area near the trailhead where you can safely leave your vehicle. Ensure you have cash or a card available for any parking fees if applicable.

• Public Transportation

  If using public transport, take a bus that operates routes through Soomaa National Park. Buses from larger towns like Tartu or Pärnu can take you close to the park. You will need to check the local bus schedules for the most current routes and times, as they may vary. Once you arrive at the nearest bus stop to Tipu, you will need to walk approximately 2 km to reach the Beaver Trail. Follow the signs towards the trail, and make sure to have a map or GPS ready, as the path may not be well-marked.

The hike will allow you to enjoy the scenic beauty of the park, but be aware that some areas may be muddy or uneven. Make sure to wear appropriate footwear and bring water.
