Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Tallinn Old Town, head east on Pikk Street. After about 600 meters, you will reach the Viru Gate. Continue straight onto Viru Street, which will lead you to the square. Once you reach the square, turn left onto Freedom Square (Vabaduse väljak) where the War of Independence Victory Column is located. The column is hard to miss as it is a prominent landmark in the square.

  • Tram

    From Tallinn Old Town, walk to the nearest tram stop at 'Vabaduse Väljak'. Take tram number 1 or 3 towards 'Kopli' or 'Tondi'. Get off at the 'Vabaduse Väljak' stop (the third stop). Once you exit the tram, you will see the War of Independence Victory Column directly in front of you.
