Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving, start by entering Tartu from the main roads. Follow the signs for Tartu city center. Once you get close, look for signs pointing towards 'Raekoja plats' or Town Hall Square. Parking is available nearby, but make sure to check local parking regulations. Be aware that parking fees may apply, typically around €1-2 per hour.

• Public Transportation

  If you're using public transportation, take a bus to the Tartu bus station. From there, you can either walk to Town Hall Square, which is approximately a 15-minute walk (about 1 km) or take a local tram. If you choose to walk, head east on Turu Street, then turn left onto Riia Street and continue straight until you reach Raekoja plats. If you opt for the tram, catch Tram 1 or Tram 2 from the bus station, and disembark at the 'Raekoja plats' stop. The tram fare is about €1.

• Bicycle

  For a scenic option, consider renting a bicycle. Tartu is bike-friendly, and there are several bike rental places near the city center. Ride along the bike lanes towards the city center, and follow signs leading to Raekoja plats. This route takes about 10-15 minutes, depending on your pace.

• Walking

  If you're already in Tartu and prefer to walk, the Town Hall Square is easily accessible from many central locations. From the Tartu University, head south along Ülikooli Street, then turn right onto Raekoja Street, which will lead you directly to the square. The walk takes approximately 10-15 minutes.
