Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start your journey in the center of Viljandi. Head southwest on Rüütli Street towards Tallinna Street. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with Pika Street. Turn left onto Pika Street and follow it until you reach the Viljandi järve rand. The beach is located along the shore of Viljandi Lake, and there are several parking areas available nearby. Be prepared for a parking fee, which is approximately €2 per hour.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, you can take a bus from Viljandi Bus Station to Viljandi järve rand. Buses to the beach run regularly, and you can check the schedule at the bus station or online. The journey takes about 15-20 minutes. Make sure to purchase a ticket from the ticket counter or the bus driver; the cost is around €1.50. Once you arrive at the 'Viljandi järve rand' bus stop, you will find the beach within walking distance. Follow the signs towards the lake.

• Bicycle

  If you're feeling adventurous, you can also bike to Viljandi järve rand. Rent a bicycle in Viljandi city center and follow the biking paths towards the lake. The ride takes about 15-25 minutes depending on your speed. There are bike racks available at the beach area. Remember to wear a helmet and follow cycling rules for safety.

• Walking

  For those who prefer to walk, starting from Viljandi city center, it will take you approximately 30-40 minutes to reach Viljandi järve rand. Head south on Rüütli Street, then take a right onto Tallinna Street and continue straight until you reach the lake. This scenic route will take you through beautiful parts of the city. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes.
