Car
From any location in Lowveld, make your way to the MR3 road, which is the main route through the region. If you're in Mbabane, head southeast on the MR3 towards Siteki. Continue on this road for approximately 60 kilometers. As you approach the turn-off for the Maguga Dam, look for the signs indicating the Maguga Dam turn-off. Turn left onto the road that leads directly to the dam. The road is well-maintained, and you'll pass through some picturesque landscapes. Follow the signs for about 15 kilometers, and you will arrive at Maguga Dam. Parking is available at the dam site, and there are no entrance fees.
Public Transportation
To reach Maguga Dam by public transport, start by taking a bus from Mbabane to Siteki. Buses are available from the Mbabane bus rank, and the journey will take around 1.5 hours. Once you arrive in Siteki, you will need to hire a taxi or catch a local minibus heading towards the dam. The taxi fare should be approximately E50 to E100 (about $3 to $6) depending on your negotiation skills. The taxi or minibus will take you directly to Maguga Dam, which is about 20 kilometers from Siteki. Note that public transport may not run frequently, so plan your return trip accordingly.
Bicycle
For the more adventurous, cycling to Maguga Dam can be an enjoyable option. Start in Siteki and take the MR3 road towards Maguga. The distance from Siteki to the dam is about 20 kilometers.
