Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start from the town of Mbabane. Take the MR3 road south towards Manzini. Once you reach Manzini, continue on the MR3 until you reach the intersection with the MR1. Take a left onto the MR1 going south. After approximately 30 kilometers, look for the signs directing you to Maphiveni. Follow the signs to V25Q+HRX, where Main Camp Shewula Nature Reserve is located. The last part of the journey will be on a gravel road, so ensure your vehicle is suitable for this terrain.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Main Camp Shewula Nature Reserve using public transportation, catch a bus from Mbabane to Manzini. Once in Manzini, you can find shared taxis (known as 'kombis') that travel towards Maphiveni. Inform the driver that you’re heading to V25Q+HRX, which is close to the reserve. Make sure to confirm the fare before starting your journey; it typically costs around E20 to E30. Upon arrival at Maphiveni, you may need to walk or arrange for a local taxi to take you the final kilometers to the camp.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from Mbabane or Manzini that will take you directly to Main Camp Shewula Nature Reserve. Be sure to negotiate the fare before departure; the cost may vary but expect to pay around E300 to E500 depending on your starting point and the distance. This option provides the convenience of a door-to-door service, especially beneficial if you are traveling with luggage or in a group.
