Car
If you're driving from Mbabane, head east on the MR3 highway towards Piggs Peak. After approximately 45 kilometers, you will reach the town of Piggs Peak. Once you arrive, follow the signs towards Phophonyane Falls Nature Reserve. The reserve is located about 14 kilometers from the center of Piggs Peak. You will need to take the Mhlambanyatsi Road (MR10) and then turn onto a gravel road leading directly to the reserve. Keep an eye out for the entrance sign. There is an entrance fee of approximately E20 per person, so be prepared with cash.
Public Transportation
For those using public transport, you can take a bus from Mbabane to Piggs Peak. Buses leave regularly from the Mbabane bus station and the journey takes about 1.5 hours. Once you arrive in Piggs Peak, you can either take a local taxi (approximately E50) to Phophonyane Falls Nature Reserve or arrange for a shuttle service. Confirm the shuttle service in advance to ensure availability. The entrance fee for the reserve will also apply, so have some cash ready.
Walking
If you're feeling adventurous and already in the vicinity of Piggs Peak, you can consider walking to Phophonyane Falls Nature Reserve. The walk is about 14 kilometers and takes roughly 3-4 hours. Make sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring plenty of water. Follow the Mhlambanyatsi Road towards the reserve, and enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way. However, this option is only recommended for those who are physically fit and accustomed to long walks.
